Rules of Xen Rebirth

    • Official Post

    In order to keep XEN REBIRTH a safe environment for all our players, we have implemented rules that need to be adhered to. All chat rules apply to all in game chat systems (Public, World (Yellow Egg), Map (White Egg), Guild, Whispers, Party and Message System) as well as the Xen Rebirth forums. All chat rules apply to all players, admins, GMs and Developers. Players are asked to report any activity that disobeys the rules. If these rules are broken, the offender(s) will be dealt with accordingly.

    You agree not to do any of the following prohibited actions:

    1. Permit any other person (including but not limited to a former user whose account XEN REBIRTH has terminated) to access XEN REBIRTH, or create or provide any other means through which XEN REBIRTH may be played by anyone besides you (e.g., through server emulators); Account sharing is PROHIBITED

    2. Upload, post, email or otherwise transmit through XEN REBIRTH any material that: (i) is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortious, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, invasive of another's privacy, hateful, or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable; (ii) is unsolicited or unauthorized advertising, promotional material, "junk mail," "spam," "chain letters," "pyramid schemes," or any other form of solicitation; or (iii) contains software viruses or any other computer code, files or programs designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer software or hardware or telecommunications equipment;

    3. Post or participate in any activity that is exposing minors to inappropriate talk in any way, shape, or form;

    4. Impersonate another user or administrator;

    5. Disrupt the normal flow of dialogue Eg. "Spam", cause a screen to "scroll" faster than other users of the Services are able to type, or otherwise act in a manner that negatively affects other users' ability to engage in real time exchanges. This includes role-playing and typing lyrics;

    6. Interfere with or disrupt the networks connected to XEN REBIRTH, or disobey any requirements, procedures, policies or regulations of networks connected to XEN REBIRTH;

    7. "Stalk", slander, verbally harass, instigate fights, unwanted sexual conversation that is offensive to other players, cyber-bullying or belittling. This includes insults, threats, or hate speech towards others based on their race, ethnicity, appearance, etc;

    8. Excessive use of foul or inappropriate language in chat. Public chat should be kept PG-13

    9. Interfering with necessary game functions such as blocking npcs with characters, pets, player shops, spa buckets etc is prohibited.

    10. Intentionally falsify bidding offers with another player to increase the amount towards the item you are attempting to sell.

    11. Collect or store personal data about another user without the express permission of such user;

    12. Modify any files or use any game hacking/altering/cheating software or tools, including scripting software, or attempt to disassemble the game client and/or decipher the data transmissions between XEN REBIRTH’s client and server;

    13. Engage in any behavior that is contrary to the 'spirit of the game' as defined by XEN REBIRTH in its sole discretion; This includes interfering with another player's leveling by mob holding with or without an aoe skill, mob stealing (If it clearly looks like its a pack of mobs being pulled by a player then it is kill stealing to attack that players monster pack and is punishable ((The 6 second rule does not apply towards a player who has an aoe skill))), map holding, using aoe skills in an area where your character is too high for the mobs you have collected causing the mobs to run from you and attack innocent players, etc.

    14. Any accounts, guilds, or player names with inappropriate or offensive references. We reserve the rights to change said name if deemed inappropriate or offensive;

    15. Selling or attempting to buy any items, accounts, or any variation of in-game service for any real world monetary value. Being caught in violation of this rule will result in a permanent ban;

    16. Using exploits to your advantage in game without proper report of said exploit and found to be using said exploit will be handled on a case by case basis. Based on the severity of the exploit, a permanent ban may be issued to the account(s) in question.

    17. Multi Clients

    Multiple clients with only one operating real person are not allowed to take part in combat with characters of the same person.

    Only one additional client per person is allowed to be logged in at a time (Maximum of 2 clients).

    Multi Clients are not allowed to enter any instances or receive rewards from any single open world bosses with characters of the same person.

    18. Interfering with GM hosted events, such as, but not limited to, repeatedly requesting trades or guild invites with a GM or other characters part of an event, making false claims such as lying about winning an event or details of an events.

    You may not enter an event with a limited prize pool using multiple characters or accounts (e.g. Entering a pvp, guild, or trivia event with multiple characters). Any active attempt to claim multiple reward tiers and locking out other players or groups in an event using alts or collaboration isn't allowed.

    For your safety:

    Players have not entered into an agreement to maintain the chat in confidence.

    Eg. Screenshots and/or Streams will and can be taken without consent and knowledge of other players.

    We strongly advise that players do not communicate with players outside of our game and anything that occurs outside of the game is not in our jurisdiction.

    We may, at any time, and at our sole discretion, modify these rules.

    We have had several players who have requested explanations on the multi-client rule. As such, our team has prepared clarifications and examples as to what is okay and what is not. The rule states:

    Quote

    Multiple clients with only one operating real person are not allowed to take part in combat with characters of the same person.

    Only one Multi Account per person is allowed to be logged in at a time.

    Multi Clients are not allowed to enter any instances or receive rewards from any open world bosses while in a party with characters of the same person

    This rule means that if you are a single person in possession or control of more than one account, you cannot assist yourself while in combat. This includes, healing, buffing, attacking, or any other action that would benefit yourself.

    Here are some examples of things that ARE OKAY as of now:

    • If you have an alternate healer character and it is in a separate map such as town, and you buff/heal yourself while you are not participating in combat, you are not breaking this rule.
    • If you have completed combat and you are in the same map / party (after
      killing all monsters. No monsters are hitting you, and you are not attacking any monsters anymore), you may heal/buff yourself. Please be very careful as there is a very fine line here where you can break this rule -- such as if a monster in lost Brynhilld decided to auto-target you while you're buffing/healing. To save yourself the risk of getting punished for this, it is best to leave your character in town or in another place where you won't be at risk of breaking this rule.
    • Being in the same party as yourself, but not participating in combat (standing still and not benefiting your other character whatsoever by existing in the same map). This means (as of the time this is being posted), power-leveling your character (while it remains in place without participating in combat) is okay.

    Here are some examples of things that are NOT OKAY:

    • Healing / buffing yourself while you are attacking a monster, or while any monster is attacking you.
    • Entering any instances (dungeon or bosses) while in a party with characters of the same person.
    • Attacking the same monster with multiple characters operated by the same person.
    • Receiving any rewards on a multi-client from any boss while in a party with characters of the same person.

    Certain edge cases and scenarios may be treated on a case-by-case basis if they are not outlined in the examples or explanations above.

    Thanks and have a great day!

    Hello everyone! I hope you all are having a fantastic week.

    In light of recent reports, we've changed the multi-client rule slightly. It was a bit vague before, so now we've modified it slightly. It now says:

    Quote

    Multi Clients

    • Multiple clients with only one operating real person are not allowed to take part in combat with characters of the same person.
    • Only one additional client per person is allowed to be logged in at a time (Maximum of 2 clients).
    • Multi Clients are not allowed to enter any instances or receive rewards from any single open world bosses with characters of the same person.

    We will not retroactively punish players for multi-clienting during world bosses, however any further infractions will result in punishment if necessary. Please abide by the rules of Xen Rebirth! If you need to review these rules, they can be found here: Rules of Xen Rebirth

    Thanks everyone and we hope you have been enjoying the new recent content! Have a great rest of your week!
