Hi! Fresh new player here! Can I solo?

  • Hey guys. Played XR for a little bit and I love it!

People are nice. I even got tons of pots from

    a player in the village!

My question is I am a solo-everything player

and want to know what class to play!

and yes I have done my research on the forum but some are old threads and there is not enough info.

I want to play mage but can you guys tell me what class is best for solo-everything player?

    Open to any suggestions! Thanks!

  • Welcome to Xen first or all! :)

As a soloist myself, I've had great success as a Rogue: You have the ability to completely escape enemy attacks by going invisible, rely on dodge to prevent damage oppose to simply relying on defense, to name a few perks. An overall fun and easy class to level IMO ;)

IF you do go this route, let me know...I might have some old gear you can use. Gotta watch out for my own kind 8)

  • Are you the one I slapped in town earlier. Any way HI WELCOME BACK..

All in all it depends one what play style your use to. I did mostly solo my healer till level 90 and did dungeons on it. I my self don't like close combat and being able to heal yourself is a great perk too. But not being able to hold a lot sucks .

  • Hi! Welcome to Xen!

I have all classes, I started with a warrior, but had issues way back in the old days & so I created a healer, since healers were in great demand & getting a pt was super easy. then I tried a scout, rogue, mage & templar.

while all are fun in their different ways, I prefer the templar. you can self heal, good def, & carry decent load of pots. I have been using my other lower lvl classes for farming pq(pet Quest) items & low lvl dungeons. My warrior, is lvl 113 & can solo well - I use her for farming gears from time to time, my healer is lvl 153 & she now just does altar dungeons as I prefer parties for her, & my saint guardian (temp class) is lvl 133 & I solo with her the most. my mage I solo AOE'd for pq items for some time but have since moved on & use her for low lvl dungeons. My scout is my main pq farmer now, tho there isnt much call for pq items atm :(. My neo is lvl 70 ish now & does low lvl dungeons, but I used to AOE the mines for ssf(soul stone frags) for pq, biggest set back was had to sell/repot every 2nd round as cant hold alot. which ever class you chose, if you decide its not for you, try a different one, there's enough character slots to try at least 1 of each 8o

:) you might try putting ,more points on power, i find 70 is too high to farm you can do Bryn underground dungeons with lv70 and aoe there you most likely know that, don't forget to vote

  • Hi! Welcome back.

I also loved playing solo! I used to wish for the game to come back even if it revives as a single player game!

I think it does depend on what kind of style you'd like to play. I played all the classes as well and here are my thoughts. Let me start with mage class since you're already thinking about that class:

    1. MAGE

I enjoyed playing Mage in the early levels. It was so much fun hitting hard and ST (single-target) killing monsters! Matched with the right lucky ball gears (which are now free and farmable btw!), you'll definitely un-alive those monsters quite quick! It does get a bit tiring after a while though as everything becomes repetitive while returns/rewards become diminished - lesser experience, more time and resources needed to kill stronger monsters. At AOE levels, you will get jealous of other players who can AOE maps - being able to kill more monsters in less time with less resources. I think, for the fun to be sustainable, you gotta party with other people doing dungeons or aoe, or practice doing aoe as mage yourself - I posted about this here: The Thrill of Suicide Kiting

Personally, I do not recommend playing mage as solo at this age of the game server when there are just fewer people playing at the same time.

    2. ROGUE

Rouge is fun. Dodging, hitting critical damages, killing fast, and the thrill when doing suicide aoeing is just fun. Rogues, if you can get the right gears, can already efficiently aoe decent maps at level 66. I once rushed leveling this class and I remember having fun doing so. Being able to choose to aoe "safe maps" (taking 1-2 damage from mobs) or suicide aoeing is a perk for solo rogues! If you're the type who loves moving around maps so much - go for rogue! However, just a heads up, if you're going AGI build for dodge - you will not be able to carry lots in your inventory!

    3. KNIGHT

If your idea of solo playing is all about aoeing - go for knight. You don't need the best gears to be able to meet the defense requirements of decent maps. With this class, you are able to take on harder aoe maps without the need for a healer or other classes. Of course, your damage might be weaker than the other classes, but the experience that you get for being able to kill harder maps makes up for it. Also, with easier access to pets, accessories, and other stat boosting items, you can afford to lose some defense to add to your attack points - experimenting on your stats can be fun! I highly recommend this class for new solo players because it's sustainable (ex., gears are cheap) and easy to play solo! I posted about my experience here: My Road to Warlord as a Returning Player

    4. TEMPLAR

On paper, this class is the ultimate solo player. You can heal yourself, you can buff yourself, you can get high defense. At this point of the game, they also buffed this class to improve the templar's quality of life by adding passive skills (everything used to be active skills which made playing this class a torture!). Playing as templar could be fun as a solo player as each new or upgrade skill really makes a difference with what you can do as a solo templar. However, playing as templar can be quite boring in the higher levels as killing takes forever for harder mobs. Having no DOTs skill really puts this class at a disadvantage. Self-heal skills are very cool though!

    5. ARCHER

This is my favorite class and I am very biased towards this class. My one and only regret about playing this game is that - I should have started with Archer and not Templar. For me, this class is the most versatile. It is fun to play as solo or in a party. There are different builds to choose from. And, being an archer is just too cool!

A solo player can easily do early to mid levels while ST killing. During the early phases of the game - archers used to solo level up until around level 100. You also only need at least a good bow to enjoy this class! But I think the main difference compared to mage is that, you can kill fast while moving faster - allowing you to kite aoe easily as well. I posted about my experience under Roku's thread as well: The Thrill of Suicide Kiting

I highly recommend this class for new solo players!

    6. CLERIC

    Not recommended.

But if you manage to meet friends to party with, an aoe partner, or farm good gears/pets/accessories to make a dps cleric - then by all means, go ahead.

I no longer play as regularly, but if you need help, you can also message on discord!

  • Hi. There

    Welcome to Land of Xen

Go Knight if you wanna solo and mindset farming Mobs easy. Knight class for me best PVE class in game. coz of there defense req for each much easily obtain if prepared for it. most class tend get the requirement much later lv. while Knight get it much earlier due OP armor they have. but remember it still slow to gain them. without someone funding you or helping get geared very least.

Once your knight able farm stuff for you. u can start doing class u really want to do. let knight FUND them for you.

Knight Build really simple 42men all STR

other class is also good but if i were solo stuff. warrior probably best investment.

Also once get lv 70 to 100 try farm liz with AWESOME Ron who always help new people doing liz ^^

Have fun and be noisy on world chat when you get rich XD

This idea for mindset able farm solo in higher lv with less stress just relaxing all the way. coz other class req more effort. lol i say this class need to be nerf way to OP in PVE haha
